"Big Announcement!"

Nearly six months after the "big announcement" was supposedly imminent, someone finally just asked.



Translation: it ain't happening. I'll bet that "inner fourteen-year-old jumping up and down just screaming with glee" has stopped screaming by now. Or at least he ain't screaming with smug excitement. 

Womp womp. Let us all mourn for the glorious trainwreck that could have been.

Instead... tumbleweed and crickets. And why would Disney be keeping it all so secret if stuff IS happening? That's not how you hype up a show. Where's the lead actors doing panels at ComicCon to talk about the project? A progress report at the very least? I've never known any big studio not to do that sort of thing ASAP once the "big announcement" has been made.

Sounds to me like that "big contract" Paolini said was being negotiated did not in fact end up being signed. And I can't imagine what (or rather who) could have caused whoever the other party was to say "no thanks" and walk away from the table. *whistles innocently*
