2019? So, well after Inheritance was published. I can sort of give him a half-point of credit for almost putting a toe in the general vicinity of admitting the Inheritance Cycle isn't exactly always internally consistent, but I just wish he'd be a bit more open and honest about it. I've said this a few times, if he was capable of honest critical self-reflection (ironic typo: I nearly wrote 'elf-reflection') and admitting every now and then that the IC has a lot of flaws that he has since learned from and improved as a writer, I would be one of the first people to stand up and applaud him. I want him to be better. I want him to be honest, self-aware, and constructively critical about his skills and weaknesses. I hope against hope that his new partner inspires or pushes him to be better.

I doubt it, but I'm an optimist.
