(nods) She's rejected him that long, she can bloody well stick to her guns for the last chapter and not kick the readers in the crotch with that tease at the relationship the protagonist has been going for through the entire series!

Eragon's really done nothing to endear himself to her. (They got drunk, but that was it.)

She's the biggest mixed-signaler since Padme from Star Wars.

Don't freakin' blue ball the fan base, they don't appreciate it! (At least that apparently got through to him...)

He couldn't satisfy anyone with that ending. (Hell, Eragon had more of a connection to Roran, with that striptease at the beginning of Brisingr.)

Exactly! They've gone through all that, they've MORE than earned their happy ending.

Five books of adventure, and Luxa getting lost, and finally, finally, they get together, and then.... IT JUST ENDS IN LIMBO.

(nods) Exactly, and she was totally into him!

And it was natural, unlike many romances you see. They grew together, and experienced stuff together. It was actually quite good. (Another well-written romance is Percy and Annabeth from the Percy Jackson series.)

(nods) That entire section needs to be removed wholesale.

I know. You can make it better by imagining that they don't go through with the move, but it still ends too soon. What happens to Gregor? Does he see Luxa again? How do they rebuild?

Ahhh...sweet vindication of knowing I was right!

Yep. I've reread the series. You get through the first two books, but you keep reading. And you get to the end. Collins also has a bad habit of leaving off things. Does Katniss see her mother again? Does she visit other districts and see how they're doing? How does the new world look? Hell, the Divergent series did better than that, and I hated that ending, too!

If anything, the movies are worse. The last book is split into two movies, for some reason, and most of Katniss's healing is skipped over. And then you just see Katniss talking to her infant, and it ends.
