Never get it why some authors write down and integrated a glossary for their "Magnus Opera".

Frank Herbert did one for Dune and, even it was very interesting to read throught, I do find it distracting. For example, in the moddle of a chapter, I saw a word I do not understand, and I have to stop reading to go to the annex.
