Some fun linguistics:

Kaa'ti is named after "katabatic wind", which is a type of fast-flowing wind that moves down the side of a mountains or cliff slope. In my alternate-world, wild dragons have names that reflect weather elements in their local area that affect their flying. Kaa'ti, being from the Spine, is named after a weather effect specific to mountain regions. A desert dragon might be named after thermal vents, and a forest dragon might be named after the way a breeze is disrupted and dispersed by the trees.

Galba isn't Galbatorix yet, because in my con-etymology for this world, the suffix -rix means 'king', and Galba doesn't currently have any imperial aspirations. Plus, what kind of parent names their kid Galbatorix? I mean, honestly.

One small overlap between this AU and the Sword & Shadow world is that -kan or -ikan in dragontongue means "one who bears/carries/is endowed with", as featured in the latest S&S chapter, where the wild dragon Windwise is named Huwe'kan in dragon-tongue, "one who bears (-kan) wisdom (we) of the winds (hu)".

EDIT: "werswyn" is a mashup of Old English words, and basically means "pig man". As in werewolf, but were-swine. Used as an insult/slur for urgals because of their tusks and horns and overall boar-like appearance.
