I really really love that Galba is getting support from Jarnunvosk’s family. It is that funeral feeling that you get when a loved one dies and their family/friends and your memories are all you have left of them. Making contact with her grieving mother first instead of a new random replacement dragon makes the emotions of loss feel more real. Then for Galba and mother to have to witness the urgals using Jarnunvosk’s scales as decorations is further heartbreaking. When Galbatorix does get his “replacement” dragon it doesn’t feel as taboo since Shruikan is actually Jarnunvosk’s brother and their mother wants-trusts Galba to be involved with her family since she lost her daughter. Ps- I loved the part were he could not call himself Shurtugal. I wonder if Kaa’ti was always brown or if she was originally green. She is initially described as mottled brown but later described as having some green. I wonder if being bonded feeds a dragon’s color and being around Galba is changing her. Or maybe it’s based on depression/mood. Or maybe she is simply brown with some green mixed in. Two colors on the same dragon just seems different for the Inheritance universe were dragons are usually described as having solid colors. Still we are only introduced to 5 members of the species. So that doesn’t make for a very good example. And two from that group have different eye colors than their bodies.
