I don't like that part either. I mean, you're bonded to a dragon, but you're changing into an elf.
I actually do have an explanation for this, which will probably come up in future chapters. I wouldn't be surprised if people guessed at it, though, just by what's already been established about how the elves think of human Riders.
And also, picturing Murtagh with elf-like ears is really strange.
It really is! It's hard for him, too, which is part of why he keeps his hair long. He doesn't like to look into the mirror and see pointed ears.
I would like to say I'll be posting the next chapter of Restitution quite soon. It's from the perspective of Umaroth, so that could be interesting.
