This is even more ludicrous than what happens to Eragon. It would almost make more sense if she were related to a divine being herself.

Yes. Yes it is. If Oona is literally a demigoddess, it doesn't come up in either the first or second book. I'll have more to say about it when we reach that chapter, but it's weird and she should have died so many times.

Seriously, why would anyone think giving your characters reality-bending power-ups is a good idea? I think I know the answer, but still.

If I'm being generous I could argue the author wanted to make the sapphic romance protagonists powerful enough that they don't realistically have to fear the equivalent of being burned at the stake. Kitlyn's usage of her power is with one notable exception either benign or justified self defense so I'm more inclined to forgive her absurd abilities than I am when it's Eragon.

That said, from a writing perspective it's very clear that Kitlyn is very difficult to credibly challenge, a fact that becomes more obvious in book two. Considering the pointlessness of the scenes where Kitlyn acquires this power-up I'm inclined to argue that she doesn't need them and the story suffers with her having them at the scale she does.

Hahahaha as if Eragon would ever have to choose between taking responsibility for his actions or just fucking off. The choice is clear, right?

In this case it's more like if Eragon both managed to leave Alagaesia to escape responsibility for his choices and received all the benefits he would have had if he'd stayed - companionship and the like.

It's better than chapters with 5-6 pages as average.

On paper I agree. I just think some chapters are kind of pointless.
