Fair point about the neck breaking. I didn't catch on to that at all until you said it.

Thought as much. And even if it's obvious, I think it ought to be stated just to get it on the table. Necks, after all, are very fragile things, and can be injured just from rocking out too much. Just ask the bassist of Muse: dude gave himself whiplash several times, and it's not hard to see why.

[...]it sort of feels like Cox didn't know how to write Oona as doing something useful if she couldn't exert physical pressure on her environment through non-physical means.

That, or he watched too much Dragonball.

Nah, I do agree with the crux of the problem - that Oona shouldn't have xyz powers - for me it's more "this isn't exactly a logical consequence of having these powers". I'm also gonna call out Cox for not having the imagination for using such abilities at their fullest. Even without the truth-telling aspect, light can be easily debilitating to fight against. With enough training, I'd imagine Oona can do anything from creating illusions to frying hordes of foes, and just about anything in between.

Also ooooh spitefic! I love these!

bows

I'll admit, I'm not 100% satisfied with it, and I'm certainly no veteran like Epistler or Anya - it's basically a rough first draft - but I couldn't help myself once the idea got into my head XD

I also like that she recognizes the stakes of her leaving the castle are much higher than her dislike of Fauhurst.

Didn't even plan for her to think to go to Fauhurst, but it just sorta happened. The pair might not like each other, but Kit in this scenario at least recognises that both want the same thing here.
