Fun fact, up until the Victorian Times, pink was considered a manly colour rather than feminine. A Rider with a pink or puce dragon certainly wouldn't be made fun of in the style of modern toxic masculinity. Puce was also popular with the French upper class (including royalty) in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Also, original puce was a lot darker than modern puce, more like dried blood than the pastel pinkish-brown we see today.
