 So, while Paolini's Eragon tv series doesn't seem to be taking off the ground at all, yet another author's book is. Rebecca Yarros, author of Fourth Wing, is officially getting a show green-lit by Amazon. She's going to be part of the show, apparently, but she's not writing it. She's just going to be an executive producer. She has also promised that her show isn't going to "make the same mistake as Game of Thrones" and "overtake" her books.

Hey! More updates on this! Apparently she’s getting a woman to be the showrunner and she’s said her main male lead is definitely going to be played by a person of color, but as of yet there’s no cast list available. I also love the description of the show’s premise, which is that Violet Sorrengail - already a scribe of the academy and not preparing to go into that role as apparently was the case in the book - gets shunted into the academy to train and bond with a dragon. That’s it. That’s the premise.

Yeah, that’s not at all what the book shows. Not entirely, anyway.

Oh yeah, make the abusive boyfriend who physically dominates his tiny disabled girlfriend a black guy. What a great idea and not the least bit horribly problematic.
