Definitely not; that series doesn't deserve anything other than to be forgotten. I'm leery of Pern as well given all the rape apologia.


Yeah; despite being absolutely obsessed with dragons as a teenager I somehow never got around to reading Pern (and, after some of the stuff I've heard since, I don't particularly want to), but the Belgariad has absolutely aged like milk even when you don't bring in the authors' real-life crimes.
