It's basically a comic book story. Actually, comic books can be quite serious and dark.
I actually almost called it a comic book, but then I was like "No, that's unfair; I've read so many graphic novels that were really intelligent and well-written." Hell, The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck by Don Rosa is more complex and emotional than this rubbish. (Seriously - go read it. It's one of the best graphic novels I've ever come across and even inspired a metal album which is just as good).
I'm going to remember Batman, Iron Man, and Wonder Woman. I'm going to remember the Joker, Thanos, and Killmonger. I'm not going to remember Kira, or Falconi, or the Jellies and nightmares.
Exactly. None of Paolini's characters are memorable, let alone iconic. Because none of them have interesting or sympathetic personalities. They're not just unlikeable - they're boring, and that is by far the worse sin.
