...You know, I should stop criticizing Paolini so much. He created an AMAZING base to work on.
I know right? That's one of the reasons why we're so frustrated by the Cycle - because it's basically "unrealised potential, the series". If only Paolini had been able to pull his head out of his ass and stop obsessing over his soul-crushingly dull and unlikeable cast of Sues, first and foremost his precious self-insert, it could have been SO much better and more interesting. (Seriously, just getting rid of Eragon would have been a huge step in the right direction. I don't think even the fans liked the idiot all that much).
