I mean if nothing else you might as well embrace that fact and go with chapter titles like "Shit Got Blowed Up Real Good".
Personally, I don't really like chapter titles too much, since they have the potential to spoil things.
You are right, though, enough is enough. I mean, metaphorical chapter titles are all right, but your work has to back that up. His work is too shallow, and it seems like he's trying to add some nice decorations on a crappy cake. It looks nice on the outside, but when you cut deeper, it's still terrible.
