I've been having a lot of fun with just how good for each other's mental health Murtagh and Vanora are. Just having someone besides their dragon partner who listens to them and shares some of their experiences is huge.

Thank you! I was originally planning to try and stretch this chapter a little further, but when I wrote that line and really looked at it on the page, I just... couldn't. It was an ending line, plain and simple.
Many other writers don't have your restraint. Are you writing other things besides consequence?
Huh, I didn't remember the rose thing... I'll have to look into that, that could be a fun detail if I ever send the characters to Gil'ead.
It could. I bet Arya would HATE to be back there, though. Has Vanora ever seen it, or her father?
I do wonder why Arya never used the rose to escape. Like, why didn't she use her magic to make it grow through the lock, or to make the thorn into a weapon?
