Yeah that'd work really well. And then you could have consumables that restore max SP and armor/magic items that reduce the drain of using magic. It'd be a pretty crunchy game that'd feel good to play. The issue is that it wouldn't support Eragon's massive power spikes very well (Though tbh few game types would), so maybe this'd be a game in an alternate timeline where there's no Oromis or something.
