I did really like that article. I especially related to not wanting to read the Cycle again. I've decided not to pick up the books again because I do have fun memories of reading them and I don't want them spoiled.
I get it. I found the IC at a not-so-great time in my life, and it was comforting to escape into a place where you could have magic, and go on adventures, etc. I have a vivid imagination, so I guess that's why I could transform the boring parts (like Eragon listening to ants), into something interesting. Like, when I read that scene, I could physically imagine myself feeling the whoosh of the squirrel as Eragon glimpsed into its mind.
