I'm partly sharing this because I just plain need to vent. WHY THE FUCK IS THRONE OF GLASS ON THIS LIST?!
"Celaena Sardothien, a young prisoner-turned-assassin, has to fight the many forces and obstacles put in her way so that she can embrace her true destiny. "It features a really strong female lead who knows what she wants and grows so much throughout the series. It takes place in a really complex and well-developed fantasy world. It also has great action scenes, mysteries, deep friendships, and complex family relationships. Also, it has some romance without making it the focal point of the book. There is definitely something for everybody."
Are you fucking KIDDING ME?To misquote Spoony: I'm sorry, I just can't get over that. It's just the
wrongest thing that has ever been said in the entire history of the English language.
A "complex well-developed fantasy world"?! Cal is a "strong female lead"?! It's NOT all about the stupid romance?!
Okay. Okay, Epistler. Just go to your happy place. Deep breaths. Calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean...
Not that this isn't the only truly horrible entry on the list, mind you. The YA genre hasn't been around for all that long in the scheme of things, but by god it's produced some absolute turds. At least one person mentioned
Eragon in the comments section too. No, that book does not "deserve" another movie adaptation. It was bad enough the first time around.
